This is My Testimonial on Cross Fit.
I was feeling quite fine being the “Couch Potato” that I am.
I was doing my regular routine on a Daily Basis. Getting myself out of bed when ever I felt like it.
Coming down stairs and having a couple of cups of coffee. Going up stairs to take my daily bath.
Doing a minimal amount of house work, making something to eat and then back on the couch for an evening of watching T.V.
Once in a Blue Moon if the weather was Just right. I would take my dog for a walk.
But for the last while the weather has been terrible, Cold and Raining so the walk has been left out.
Our two daughters who are both Cross Fit fanatics talked us into coming to see and try a little of what Cross Fit is all about.
We had nothing better to do. So sure it sounds like Fun, Let’s go.
First they showed us around and explained what all the equipment was used for and demonstrated it for us.
Then it was time for us to do a WOD.
They gave us just a small one because they knew how inactive we both are.
It consisted of Squats, Situps and Pullups. So many of each, repeat 3 times.
That sounded easy enough.
We did those without too much problem.
I was getting a little heated up but I thought after a little break I could do it all over again.
They said, No that was enough for one day.
I came home feeling quite Good and quite Smug as a matter of fact.
That evening, we did our usual thing of watching T.V. me going upstairs to read for awhile and going to bed.
The next morning, I tried to get out of bed.
Upon standing up my legs were Screaming in pain.
I had to go to the bathroom. I painfully hobbled in there clutching onto anything near by.
I tried to sit down. Owww the pain, the pain. I finally Plopped my self on the toilet.
Now it was time to get up, Oh No… I can’t.
Owww, Oh….! The Pain, the Pain. I grabbed onto the counter and was holding onto the wall finally, I hoisted my self up.
Whew!!! Now it is time to go down the stairs.
Slowly…Very….. Slowly… Painfully…. Clutching onto the bannister and the wall one Agonizing step at a time I made it down.
I hobbled around and made my coffee. Now,I had to carry it down 3 more stairs to get it to the couch.
Oh, No. One step, the coffee was sloshing around. I was holding on to the wall.
Pain! My thighs were Screaming. I sloshed some coffee on the carpet, 2 more steps down.. to go.
Agonizingly, I finally made it to the couch. Yes! Now what? I tried to sit down.
Pain!! Shooting up my legs by now I am sweating.
Finally, I put my coffee on the end table and Rolled my self on the couch.
Ahhh, I made it! Now if I don’t move it won’t too hurt much.
That didn’t last for very long. I had to go to the bathroom. Oh, My god have some mercy.
Or at the Very least give me some morphine.
It was the same Painful procedure as before. Ohh, The pain!
Sweating and shaking, gritting my teeth trying Not to scream.
This same Agonizing thing went on with “Every” move I made for 3 long, painful days.
Today is the 4th day and I can finally move around without wanting to scream out loud.
Or debating wouldn’t it just be easier to pee my pants than to go through that painful ordeal again.
I am still sore but at least it is tolerable.
My thoughts on Cross Fit is that it must be for “Masochists.”
If their solgan is the “Pain Never Goes Away You Just Get Used To It” So be it.
I will tell you This.
I Never want to go through That! Pain again and No! I Don’t think I will Ever get used to it.
Not in this life time anyway.
And that is My Blurp.
Have a Nice Day!
